Flint Hills Child Care Resource & Referral Agency (FHRRA) is dedicated to assisting military families stationed at Fort Riley in their search for quality child care. FHRRA works with child care providers, Fort Riley Child and Youth Services, and community organizations to make quality care available to children and families in Clay, Dickinson, Geary, Pottawatomie, and Riley counties.
FHRRA’s Mission is to respond to the needs of children, families & communities for high quality child care through consumer education and professional development support.
FHRRA is a member of NACCRRA (National Association of Child Care Resource & Referral Agencies).
FHRRA is a licensed child care resource and referral agency through the Kansas Department of Health & Environment.
FHRRA Family Service Policies Fee Policy- All services offered by FHRRA are free of charge
FHRRA collects standardized data regarding the following:
- Parents looking for child care
- Average cost of child care
- Number of facilities and their capacity
Confidentiality Policy- Disclosure of records and information to third parties shall only be given upon written consent of the client.
Disclaimer- FHRRA makes child care referrals, only. Referrals provided to parents are meant to provide information as to available programs which meet their child care needs and FHRRA does NOT make recommendations to particular providers.
Complaint Policies- Flint Hills Child Care Resource and Referral Agency (FHRRA) does not regulate child care providers.
Child Protection: Complaints of child abuse or neglect, which are situations (non-accidental) in which a child suffers physical trauma, deprivation of basic physical and developmental needs or mental injury as a result of an act of a caregiver. Parents should report these complaints to Child Protective Services, through the Department of Social & Rehabilitation Services, 866-495-6980
Health and Safety: Includes, but not limited to: cleanliness of the facility, providers, and children; changing and toileting practices; eating and nutrition practices; maintaining adult/child ratio as outlined in the Health Department Regulations; use of unsafe equipment; transporting children in an unsafe manner; or leaving children with unqualified caregivers. Parents should report these complaints to their local Health Department (contact information).
Other Child Care Concerns: Includes calls about business practices; style or temperament of providers; physical differences; etc. They are not considered complaints as they do not involve providing care which is harmful to the child. FHRRA staff will counsel with parents about appropriate options for resolving their concerns, but the responsibility for action lies with the parent.
